Hey there, I’m Katee

Woman with long brown hair wearing a blue jacket, smiling, outdoors in a forested mountain landscape with snow-capped peaks.

I’ve been working as a photographer for over a decade, documenting adventures, events, products, and people. Elopements have always been a favourite of mine so it was easy to combine with my love of planning adventures to offer all-inclusive elopement packages.

As a queer woman with a chronic illness, I enthusiastically work with people of all types of identities, backgrounds, and relationships.

Many of my adventure elopements wouldn’t be possible without my partner Bryce. He helps me with location scouting, supports with safety and logistics, and gives me a hand with carrying gear and supplies. Bryce also serves as a videographer, second photographer or drone pilot when possible.

  • I am based in Revelstoke, BC and work throughout the Kootenays and Okanagan. I don’t typically travel beyond the BC Interior for work as I would prefer to support photographers local to the job who know the region better and reduce our travel impact on the environment. That being said, if I truly am the right person for the job, I’m happy to make it happen.

  • In general, I like to keep my photographs true to the environment in which they were taken. I prefer to work in camera for creative effects and don’t tend to over process my images. My work is commonly described as bright, clean, and colourful.

My clients come first, and I will use all of the tools at my disposal to bring their creative vision to life. I am well versed in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop for extensive digital manipulation when needed.

  • I was inspired to become a photographer when I was 10 years old at a family photo shoot. The dream became a reality after studying commercial & portrait photography at Algonquin College in Ottawa in my early 20’s. It’s been the best combination of weddings, events, portraits, and products ever since!

  • I was constantly taking on the role of coordinating my photography client’s wedding days and planning their timeline. I’m the one they came to for advice on locations and vendors, especially when travelling from out of town. After planning our own backcountry elopement here in Revelstoke I realized it was a huge skill of mine - and a lot of fun! I decided to take everything I’ve learned from weddings and backcountry travel and combine them to help couples build their own dream elopement (that I also get to photograph!).

  • We’re a dating app couple! We matched when living in Saskatoon and messaged for a couple days before I headed into the backcountry to guide a canoe trip. I couldn't get Bryce off my mind so I asked him out when I got back into cell service - except he was headed to Lake O’Hara the next day at 6am. I didn’t arrive home until 10pm but we met for a drink anyway and ended up chatting until the bar closed! He gave me his inReach link and the rest was history.

  • Over the past few years I’ve gone through the painstaking process of searching for a diagnosis for my genetic connective tissue disorder. It displays itself in a variety of symptoms that don’t seem related at first glance, including anxiety, fatigue, and joint pain. I manage these through various therapies, keeping active, and knowing when to rest. In order to be sure I’m at my best for you on your wedding day I’ve set myself up with some strict boundaries around how many clients I take on each month. It’s a bit of a balancing act but working with such phenomenal couples makes it so worth it.

  • I've been dreaming up an overnight hiking elopement in Mount Revelstoke or Glacier National Park. We could camp at Jade Lakes or stay at the Asulkan Cabin and make the most of sunset and sunrise in the mountains!

  • We connected over our love for the outdoors and moved to Revelstoke together in 2020 to live right in the heart of the mountains we love exploring.

  • From skiing and snowmobiling, to hiking, climbing, paddling, and biking, there aren’t many mountain activities we’re not into.

  • We volunteer with our local Pride Society and Revelstoke Search and Rescue to help create safe and accessible spaces for all members of our community.

  • We got engaged and married on adventures in the mountains right here in Revelstoke and know how special it is to have this backdrop for life’s biggest milestones.

  • We have a 5 year old husky/kelpie mix named Eddy. He’s an eager adventure partner who makes sure we spend lots of time enjoying the mountains.

  • We bought our dream property on the Columbia River in 2021 and have been renovating our home ever since.

  • We are beyond grateful to live, work, and play on the unceded traditional lands of the Syilx, Ktunaxa, Sinixt, and Secwépemc Peoples.

Two people, a man and a woman, are working together outdoors in a snowy mountain landscape. They are preparing equipment, possibly for snowmobiling, with a snowmobile visible in the foreground. The woman is wearing a white winter coat and a beige knit hat with a pom-pom, while the man is dressed in a pink jacket. The sky is clear and blue, and the mountains are snow-covered.

What’s in a name__

Our business was born on our back deck. It’s where we eat our meals, meet with clients, and come up with all our wild ideas. It’s our favourite spot to relax and no other view compares. Our back deck is the centrepiece of our home and reminds us that with a little hard work, our dreams can become reality.

Where you’ll find us when we’re not facilitating adventure elopements in the mountains.
